My Story
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Paula grew up on a farm learning how to care for a variety of farm animals with her favorite; ponies and horses.
Paula struggled with conforming to a strict religious upbringing that taught her more about rules than love. Her free spirit and internal rebellion were tamed and subdued by her focus on her passion with horses, music and art.
She created stories, wrote poems, songs and music and spent as much time in nature riding horses as she could. She struggled with school because it taught her to think less of herself because of the comparison and treatment of peers was based on grades, looks, and social status. She was taught to love each other but then experienced different standards based on grading and social status.
It was confusing.
Her parents taught her to love everyone and not judge. Society taught her that competition, grades and social status especially those with more resources and wealth were more important than individual gifts, talents and intelligence. School did not reflect her true intelligence, gifts, or talents.
Paula began her pursuit of creating her life by following her intuition and passions. Her pursuits of music, horse showing and enjoying dating/men brought her high vibrations of good times and great friends. She showed horses and completed her equine management degree then pursued experiences with bands, some of which toured the midwest. After years of performing with bands and showing horses she felt a calling to serve her country as her father and grandfathers had.
She joined the Army and served 8 years as an Animal Care Specialist in research at the University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. After her active duty service, she lived overseas and enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and finally settling in Saudi Arabia. During this time period of 10 years, she completed her Bachelor of Science from Southeastern University, Washington D.C. Tens years of never giving up no matter what or where she was.
After returning home to the US, she continued her pursuit of education specifically interested in romantic relationships and the art and science of communication and specifically symbolic interaction. She completed her degree and taught interpersonal communication courses at UW - Marshfield Campus - to assist others in raising their awareness of how to change how we listen to others to form ourselves and more importantly how we talk to ourselves about our experiences and the influence of family, friends, society and our romantic partners. This was the key to her deepest passions.
After several relationship experiences including marriages, she left her home state again to explore a soulmate connection in the deep south. This connection taught her the deepest most painful lessons that nothing has matched. After deeply painful circumstances with abuse, drugs, and the law, it was during her experiences with real life addicts and abused women that she found her abilities to connect and help others start healing through the pictures, symbols, and gentleness of tarot readings.
And so, after years of difficult life lessons, pain and the beauty of others teaching her about themselves and herself through their stories, she returned home with a great appreciation and a new sense of love for her family, society and the universe with all of its beauty.
